We have an excellent opportunity to join our accounts team as an Finance Assistant.

 Job Purpose:

The Finance Assistant provides support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. They will ensure that financial records are accurate and assist in the preparation of reports. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a basic understanding of accounting principles.  We’re looking for applicants who seek satisfaction in providing a first-class service and are happy to engage with internal departments and key stakeholders. Job Summary:

  • Process and record daily financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist with account reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Support month end close processes
  • Process repair request invoices for payment and submitting payment requests
  • Reconcile discrepancies or errors identified in financial records
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
  • Maintain organised and up to date financial documentation
  • Support with all e-mail enquiries from external and internal stakeholders
  • Perform administrative tasks as required by the department

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in similar role
  • Accounting Qualification to AAT L2 or L3
  • Proficient in accounting software (sage)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office in particular Excel and advanced functions (Pivot, VLookup)
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
  • Strong organisation and time management abilities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Full training in systems and processes will be provided, but previous use of business systems and or the automotive/warranty/service plan market would be an advantage.

Job type:

  • Full time – 37.5 hours per week (9.00am – 5.00pm) or (8.30am – 4.30pm)
  • Permanent opportunity
  • Salary £25,560 with an increase following probation
  • OTE £1,200 per annum in target related commission
